I am a wife that is starting to think about my retirement and wanted to lose 10 pounds. I worked with Jamie and stopped due to thinking I had it under control. I decided to come back this year at the first of February and set a goal of a 10 pound weight loss by vacation at the end of April. This time I took his advice about nutrition to heart and it worked! I lost the weight, lost body fat and inches and am now on to my next goal of more body fat loss and more muscle definition.
Atmosphere means a lot to me and as an older female I felt large gyms were too intimidating. The atmosphere with Fitness with a View has been wonderful! I also have had hand, shoulder, and knee injuries and Jamie is constantly monitoring my exercises to be sure I strengthen and not re-injure these spots.

I am a wife and mom with 2 children and a busy schedule. I had been physically active for years since the birth of my second child, but I did not feel comfortable in my body. I was frustrated and had resigned to thinking that my body was just a byproduct of my age. I thought there was little more that I could do to change it. Jamie finally convinced me that this was not necessarily the case. He showed me that proper nutrition is needed to lose weight and keep it off.
Jamie helped me find ways to eat healthy on the weekends, while on vacation, and during the holidays. These had been time periods in the past where all my hard work had been undone. I had always known that diet and exercise was the key to looking my physical best. However, as I approached my mid to late 30’s I knew my goals needed to change along with my attitude.
Jamie not only stressed and encouraged the physical aspect of weight and cardio training but he took the time to educate me on proper nutrition. He showed me how the proper amount and combination of foods could not only satisfy my appetite but would in fact dramatically boost my metabolism to encourage weight loss.
Jamie educated me on proper diet and pushed me physically in fact challenging me! The challenge was what I really needed. He challenged me to learn more about nutrition and try different foods that actually did satisfy. The challenge was to not let myself down nor my friend, and workout instructor, Jamie. My goals were little to start with and then the whole picture started to form. I began to realize that age did not have to be the determining factor. I was able to physically change my body after I changed my attitude about the interplay between food, diet, and exercise. I now look at food and exercise as fuel and energy.
I only had my last 20 pounds to lose and I have done so. Not only did I meet my goals initially set with Jamie, but we continue to strive for new ones! I must remind myself of the little goals each day. Although I continue to be goal oriented of course the main goal is to be a mentally and physically healthy mother and wife to my family.
